INNOVATORS: Roger Goldammer, The Bike BenderThe skill and passion of Roger Goldammer for designing and building custom motorcycles has turned a hobby into a creative business as a premier bike builder in the custom motorcycle community. ![]() Roger Goldammer has long had a passion for the mechanical. He grew up working around cars and aircraft, and began working with motorcycles when he was a teen. What started out as a hobby 20 years ago has transformed into a thriving, award-winning business. Roger studied at the British Columbia Institute of Technology and served an apprenticeship in machining and engine building. To combine manufacturing and his true passion of building custom bikes, Roger relocated to Arizona to train in Harley-Davidson motorcycle mechanics at the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute and to participate in Phoenix's thriving motorcycle community. Both proved a solid foundation for him to open his own business in Kelowna. ![]() The unique and innovative designs of Goldammer Cycle Works stand apart in the international custom bike scene. Out of necessity, he builds most parts for his show bikes, which combine the functional and the innovative. His bikes are distinquished by their cutting-edge styling, and his unique designs compete successfully at an international level. Awards include 1st place at the 2002 Grand National Roadster Show and the 2003 VQ Award for Most Innovative Bike Builder. In 2004 and 2005, Goldammer creations won 1st place in the Artistry in Iron Competition at the Las Vegas Bike Fest. Goldammer's latest bikes, the boardtrack racer BTR3 and Trouble, took 1st place at the World Championship of Custom Bike Building.
