Merchandising Workshop InitiativeThe Okanagan Cultural Corridor and Kelowna Cultural Services are exploring the possibility of hosting a three-hour workshop followed by a networking social for cultural organizations with retail space. The workshop would be presented by an expert merchandiser from Vancouver. The cost would be between $30 and $35 and the workshop would need 15 to 20 participants to go ahead.

19th ANNUAL APPLE FAIRBC ORCHARD INDUSTRY MUSEUM
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 20th, 2007, 10:00AM - 3:00PM The apple takes centre stage on Saturday, October 20th! Apple lovers will have the chance to sample a variety of locally grown apples at the BC Orchard Industry Museumís 19th Annual Apple Fair on Saturday, October 20th, 10:00am to 3:00pm inside the Laurel Packinghouse. Sample your favourites such as Spartan, Ambrosia, McIntosh, and Aurora Golden Gala, and re-discover many other tasty varieties, too! Kids of all ages will enjoy the assortment of apple treats during the celebration of this delicious tree fruit. There will be live entertainment throughout the day from the Brightside Cloggers and the Modern Voice and Talent Vocal Performance School, hands-on childrenís activities, and free face painting. Enjoy the antique tractor display along Cawston Avenue courtesy of the Okanagan Antique Power Club, and then browse the wares of local artisans and vendors during this fun-filled community event. Donít forget to make a bid in the silent auction. There will be a mouth-watering range of apple products including homemade apple pie, apple ën spice ice cream from Marble Slab Creamery, caramel apples and candy apples from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, sparkling applessence juice, and much more! Educational and hands-on childrenís activities centre on a 50-foot working model railroad and the Learning Tree inside the BC Orchard Industry Museum. Keep watch for the Apple Fairy as she makes her special annual appearance! Join the festivities and celebrate the harvest of the apple on Saturday, October 20th at the historic Laurel Packinghouse located at 1304 Ellis Street, in the heart of Kelownaís Cultural District. AGSO 11th Annual Soup Bowls ProjectThe Art Gallery of the South Okanagan presents the 11th annual Soup Bowls Project on Friday, October 26 at 7 p.m. at the gallery. The Penticton Pottersí Guild has been busy creating the bowls for this unique fundraiser, which also showcases the culinary creations of ten of the finest chefs in Penticton.
The AGSO welcomes you to savour soups from Theoís Restaurant, the Dream CafÈ, Voodooís Neighborhood Pub, Whole Foods Market ñ Wheat Grass CafÈ, Kettle Valley Station Pub, Joy Road Catering, Fibonacci Roastery & CafÈ, Valentiniís CafÈ, The Lunchbox and Saltyís Beach House/Black Pearl Oyster Bar. Just Pies and Serious Breads along with Walla Foods will be providing fabulous bread to round out your meal. Participants are encouraged to vote for their favorite soup which will be announced during the event. The coveted championship currently belongs to Fibonacci Roastery & CafÈ, and you can bet that nine other chefs are chasing down the honor. Enjoy a glass of the South Okanaganís coveted wine or a chilled beer from Cannery Brewing Company while kicking back to the music of the Darylectones.
