  • Okanagan Arts Marlene G. McPherson celebrates the joy of creating through painting the reflections of her life. Working mainly in watercolour, acrylic and pastels she captures moments of time in the Okanagan while painting the world she knows.

Marlene is also a teacher and has designed an excellent private Fine Art program which she has instructed children, teens and adults in since 1993. Combining her strong passion for the visual arts with her philosophy that 'making art can be a learned skill, and there is some creativity in everyone' she developed a unique teaching style and curriculum, which she continues to enjoy teaching and perfecting in her home studio, M.G.M. Fine Art Studios. The South Central Interior District Educational School, as an excellent alternative to the Provincial Art Curriculum, also accepts her private program from her students. Besides directing her Studio School, Marlene has been an instructor with the City of Kelowna since 2002, where her drawing and soft pastel courses are offered through the City's Recreation Services. Each year, Marlene also offers art workshops in the public schools of her home community of Lake Country.

Marlene has a business background in Graphic Art and Commercial Printing. She is a regular participant in many local art shows and events and has won numerous awards and special recognitions. C.E. Krueger also features Marlene's artwork in the recently published book, "Beauty is...A Collection of Okanagan Art.

For more information about Marlene's artwork or teaching please feel free to contact her.
